【22.09.15】FPGA論理シミュレータの紹介
FPGA論理回路設計におけるシミュレータのご紹介です♪
「RTLコーディング完了！」 ⇒ 「FPGAデータ作成、即実機評価！」
昨今の開発期間の短縮で、こんな業務も多いです・・・
しかし、実際の所は、
・ 実機評価でうまく動作しない
・ 様々な検証パターンや異常系を、実機では実施出来ない（後で不具合が発生する・・）
・ 実機で細かな調査が出来ず（実機では見つけづらく）余計に時間が掛る
とのケースも多く発生しています。
※ 逆にシミュレーションでは分からない不具合も存在します、これはまた別の機会に・・
論理シミュレーションの対応を省いた事で、後で問題が大きくなるのは困ります。
特に論理シミュレーションの重要性を意識し、業務に取り組んでおります。
現在、
・modelsim DE *1
・Riviera *4
その他、FPGA DesignToolバンドルのシミュレータで検証を行っています。
With the recent shortening of development time, there are many cases in which RTL coding is completed and the actual device is evaluated immediately.
However, there are some cases in which
- The device does not work well in the actual device evaluation.
- Various verification patterns and anomalies cannot be implemented on the actual device (defects may occur later).
- Detailed investigations cannot be performed on the actual device (it is difficult to find them on the actual device), and extra time is required.
This is a case in which the actual device cannot be used for detailed investigation (because it is difficult to find the problem on the actual device).
We do not want problems to become bigger later on by omitting to deal with logic simulation.
We are especially conscious of the importance of logic simulation in our work.
